How to take this !

Wow, thanks for all the nice comment on my shot yesterday… well a lot of questions about how to do it…
Actually not so difficult…. The main thing is to have patience and keep in mind that of the 100 shots you take maybe 1 or 2 are in the way you want.
The thing I did was as follows…

1. Make a big pile of stuff in your sink till it’s almost above the edge of the sink
2. On top of that you place a bowl, any color will do actually…fill that up with water.
3. The space you see behind the sink is where you will get the refection from so it’s nice to put something there (paper or something plastic as it probably will get wet !!) with any other color…. Or just experiment with putting colored stuff around the main area.. it’s amazing to see how drops take on color…
4. One of the main things is light…. This is very tricky as you probably can imagine. You can use external lights…. If you do so place one on the left and right of you main subject.
5. Or.. like I did with this series of drops use your onboard flash. Note when you do this: only possible at day time with plenty of natural light.
6. As I used the tap of the kitchen sink (as a dropper) you need to determine where the drops fall into the bowl. If you sort off know the spot put something there so you can focus you lens on that spot
7. Very important !!! Use manual focus !! Automatic will probably not work !!
8. Put you camera on a tripod or make sure you have a steady hand.. (I did it with out ass it was more easy for me.. (lucky me I have a steady hand)
9. Now let the tap drop water slowly…. And start taking the shot, try to figure out when it the right time to push the button to get the shot… and just try try try…
10. Oohh and I used the Sigma MACRO 70mm F2.8 EX DG lens…

If you have any trouble or need more tips let me know glad to help… and very curious about your results !
